SIMEON ABIODUN AWODUMILA

Mr. Simeon Abiodun Awodumila retired as an Assistant Director, Special Insured Institutions Department, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) in December, 2012. He was a Lead Examiner for several years, responsible for the examination of many Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and Primary Mortgage Banks (PMBs).
Mr. Awodumila is a professional banker and also a bank Examiner with banking industry experience spanning over Twenty-Eight (28) years. He was an Associate of Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) London, now a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He started his banking career in 1974 with the Cooperative Bank Limited (now Skye Bank Plc) before traveling to London to further his education in banking at the South-West London College, Tooting Broadway London in 1976. He joined one of the leading Merchant Banks in 1983, ICON Ltd (Merchant Bankers) after completing the NYSC program at First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Amunigun branch, Ibadan. At ICON, he rose to the position of Head of Loan Administration as a Manager. In 1994, he joined the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) as a trainer at the Corporation’s Training Centre. He later became the Head of Risk Assets Department of liquidated banks at the Consolidation Centre
